چکیده
Introduction and Aim: Malaria is endemic in many parts of India. Glucose 6 phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency known to protect against malaria. G6PD deficient individuals afflicted with malaria when treated primaquine, the first line oxidant drug malaria, encounter adverse fatal complications due acute precipitation hemolytic anemia. There a need assess RBC indices its implications deficiency, manifestations. The aim this study was compare correlate various activity patients without find prevalence tertiary care hospital. Materials Methods: present carried out by Biochemistry Department Kasturba Medical College, Manipal 363 participants (with malaria). Mann Whitney U test Spearman’s Rank correlation were employed group differences correlation, respectively. Results: 218 cases 365 days from hospital South India an alarming incidence annuls fact that relatively low Complete blood counts red did not show any statistically significant difference between groups. No found study. Conclusion: hematological indicators or hint towards necessity tests for radical treatment as are unable predict defective enzyme activity.

VARIATIONS OF GLUCOSE 6-PHOSPHATE DEHYDROGENASE ACTIVITY IN VARIOUS TISSUES INDUCED BY METABOLIC ALKALOSIS, ACIDOSIS AND DIABETES
The effects of chronic metabolic acidosis, alkalosis and alloxan-induced ketoacidosis on G6PD activity of rat kidney, liver and erythrocytes were studied. Metabolic acidosis significantly increased the activity of kidney enzyme (55%) but decreased the liver (43%) and erythrocyte (38%) enzyme activities. Alkalosis did not make a significant change in the kidney or liver enzyme activity but ...

P-144: Glucose-6-Phosphate Dehydrogenase Activity in Ovine Oocytes in Association with Developmental Characteristics and Expression of Bax Gene
Background: Recent studies have revealed that oocyte competence can be assessed through the presence of the glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PDH) enzyme, as indicated by brilliant cresyl blue (BCB), a dye that can be degraded by G6PDH. In the present study, we aimed to examine the validity of BCB test to select developmentally competent oocyte in ovine and its association with stage-specifi...
متن کاملEffect of Sodium Bicarbonate and Sodium Chloride on Renal and Hematologic Factors in Patients with Glucose-6-phosphate Dehydrogenase Deficiency
Background: Sodium bicarbonate serum therapy is used for compensation bicarbonate lost and increasing blood pH in metabolic acidosis caused by severe anemia in patient with glucose-6-phosphate dehydrogenase (G6PD) deficiency. The aim of present study was comparison the effect of serum therapy using two different serums (serum with bicarbonate and without bicarbonate) on some renal and hematolo...
متن کاملINHIBITION OF HUMAN ERYTHROCYTE GLUCOSE 6-PHOSPHATE DEHYDROGENASE ACTIVITY BY DEHYDROEPIANDROSTERONE AND RELATED STEROIDS.
The inhibitory effects of several steroids on G6PD activity using intact erythrocytes are reported. Incubation of whole blood with dehydroepiandrosterone (DHEA) resulted in 42% and 12% inhibition in the enzyme activity in the presence and absence of oxygen, respectively. Addition of epinephrine and/or aminophylline into the incubation medium caused further enzyme inhibition suggesting a po...
